Busy Summer

Well, the term doesn’t quite cover how busy this summer season has been. For us here at Arrow Vintage Cars it has been our busiest summer season on record. From the first week of July to this coming weekend, October 2nd, we will have completed over 150 Weddings! We try and aim for around 220 Weddings a year, of which only around 100 occur in this same 12 week slot each year. Why this sudden jump? Quite simply put – Covid. Many Happy Couples postponed their Weddings that were originally booked for 2020 and early 2021 on to a later date. Because of this, and as per our Coronavirus Statement back in March 2020, we knew this catch-up time would arrive. Therefore, as evident on our Facebook Page it certainly has!

How it Happened

This pressure for couples to be married in this 12 week Summer period of 2021 seems to have been driven by Essex Wedding Venues telling couples the dates they’re to get married on. Usually this is the other way round! We think if Brides and Grooms had more freedom to choose when they wanted to have their Wedding, more of them would have chosen to go into 2022. But, as that freedom isn’t offered, Summer 2021 is when they were to be married.

Challenges

The challenges to us are vast! We’re only a small term, so have had to move our focus solely on completing this huge amount of Weddings. We would usually be balancing completing Weddings and actively promoting for new work at the same time. In tern as the pressures of the vast amount of weddings has been so huge, promotion has largely had to be stopped due to lack of time. Driver shortages, car wear and tear, and logistics have also been challenges we’ve had to overcome.

Autumn/Winter 2021

October 1st and 2nd this year are out last REALLY busy days of this year. The last days where we are maximum capacity for both Wedding Car hire Essex and driver availability. Once this coming Weekend of Vintage and Classic Wedding Car hire is completed, we will then be having a refocus. We’ll be concentrating more on promotion by attending large local Wedding Fayres such as County Wedding Events Signature Wedding Show at the Brentwood Centre. This is to extend our market share into 2022 and 2023 alike. We’ll also be working hard on improving the quality of our Classic Car collection in the off-season. Plans are afoot to for us expand our Film and TV car collection too, so we’ll keep you posted here as soon as updates are available.

Thanks for reading. We’ll be back soon!
